Artists Statement:

Living in Cornwall I feel a particular affinity with the land and sea.

"There are so many different types of environment here, that you could be in different countries, dependant on which side of the coast you are on".

My work aims to reflect my feelings towards the environment and local landscape.

I use photography and digital imaging to enhance atmospheric moods.

Nature and the elements are used to create images that capture 'pieces of time' and hopefully evoke feelings, emotions, thought and ideas from the viewer. I also enjoy playing with shapes and patterns, and creating textures.

I have split my art up to reflect the different topics that I am currently working on, these include: Water, Wood, Earth and Stone.

All of these play major parts in our environmental landscape here in Cornwall. We are surrounded by water (the sea) and have numerous stone cirles (being a celtic and originally a pagan county), and as a mining county many areas where mining development has taken place. We also have our rugged 'granite' for which cornwall is famous and some very beautiful woodland areas. All of these things greatly inspire me and Cornwall brings out my creative streak, encouraging me to write and create pieces of art...
